Technology That
Grows With Your Business
Your corner bakery, your law practice, your growing startup; you shouldn’t need a Fortune 500 budget to run like one.
About Curious Cat Consulting
Curious Cat Consulting started in 2025, out of a habit of asking what a business actually needs before reaching for a technical answer.
I come at a project by digging into the problem behind the requirements. It produces work that solves what is in front of you and still holds up when the requirements change.
Meet Our Team

Patrick Masters
Patrick is a senior software engineer and architect with over 8 years of experience, most of it on cloud integrations and large-scale infrastructure work.
He has worked at every stage of the development lifecycle, from architecture through deployment, with a bias toward code that is still readable a year later.

Gina Masters
Gina runs business operations, project management, and client relations at Curious Cat Consulting.
Her background is in business administration, and she takes projects from the first consultation through to delivery.
She keeps the work anchored to what a client actually needs rather than what is technically interesting.

Questions we hear a lot
Running a small business is enough work without wrestling tech. Here are honest answers. You can also run a free email auth, site audit, or email inspector anytime.
- What kind of help do you offer for a small business?
- We help with the tech stuff that keeps a business running online: fixing or building a website, sorting out email deliverability, moving to the cloud, connecting tools, and cleaning up old systems. You get plain-language advice and hands-on work, not a pile of jargon.
- Is this only for big companies?
- Not at all. A lot of our clients are local shops, family businesses, and small teams who need someone experienced to jump in. If you have a problem you cannot solve yourself, or you are tired of guessing, we are a good fit.
- I am not very technical. Can you still work with me?
- Yes. We explain options in everyday language, recommend a sensible path, and handle the heavy lifting. You stay in the loop on decisions and cost, without needing to speak developer.
- How do we get started?
- Send a note through the contact form or email. We will set up a short call to hear what is going wrong or what you want to improve, then suggest next steps. Small fixes can be quick; bigger projects are broken into clear phases so you are not surprised.
- Do you have free tools to check my website or email?
- Yes. Our Email Auth Scanner checks whether your domain is set up so customer emails actually land in inboxes. Our Site Audit looks at your homepage for search visibility, speed, and how AI tools might read your site. Our EML Inspector lets you paste or drop a raw email file to see authentication results, routing, and whether the message was changed in transit, all without uploading it. All three are free.
- Where are you located, and do you meet in person?
- We are based in the Tampa area and work with businesses across the U.S. Most work is remote, which keeps cost down for small teams. We can meet in person locally when it makes sense.

A curated selection of impactful projects that showcase our expertise across various technical disciplines and business domains.

Itemized Home: Inventory for Insurance
An offline home inventory app for storm season and insurance claims, live on the App Store for iPhone and iPad. Catalog a property room by room with photos, receipts, and serial numbers, then hand your adjuster a document instead of reconstructing the contents of your house from memory. Almost nobody finishes a home inventory, because photographing a house one item at a time takes days. That is where the work went. Burst mode turns a sweep of photos into several draft items in one pass, a document scanner pulls in receipts and manuals, and a bulk import handles a camera roll you already have. The output is the other half. Inventories export as CSV, a multi-sheet Excel workbook, or a PDF with the photos embedded, and the app assembles a Proof of Loss from the items you select. That document follows the Florida sworn statement format, including the fraud notice the state requires, and it is a draft the user reviews rather than legal advice. No backend and no account: everything is on-device via MMKV, which is the right call for an app you need working after a storm with no cell service, and an explicit tradeoff, since a lost phone means a lost inventory until cloud backup ships. Built with React Native and Expo, alongside a static Next.js marketing site at itemizedhome.com.

Email & Domain Trust
Client email-auth remediation plus three free tools on curiouscat.consulting. We fix SPF, DKIM, and DMARC for businesses that send from their own domain, and built scanners so anyone can see what we see without a sales call. For a healthcare professional services firm, a same-domain phishing message exposed DMARC at p=none and DKIM turned off. We closed the vector the same day and caught 66+ spoof attempts in the first week. For an LPL-affiliated advisory, outbound mail was getting flagged as impersonation; we took a Grade F baseline to 96.8% DMARC compliance at close-out with ongoing monitoring. The free tools: Email Auth Scanner, Site Audit, and EML Inspector. No login.

Whisker (Litter-Robot cards)
Open-source Lovelace dashboard cards for the Whisker and Litter-Robot integration in Home Assistant, giving pet owners clear visibility into litter status, cycles, and device health without leaving their smart-home UI. Built with TypeScript for the frontend stack, distributed via HACS, and maintained under the homeassistant-extras GitHub organization for easy install and updates.
